Abstract
Road infrastructure plays an important role in socio-economic connectivity, supporting community mobility and the distribution of goods. Road construction and maintenance requires a sustainable approach that considers technical, environmental and economic aspects. This research aims to compare the cost and time efficiency of implementing concrete and asphalt road pavement on the Bendung - Bantengan road section, Mojokerto Regency. This research uses average daily traffic data (LHR), topographic data, and soil California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test results. The analysis was carried out using the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual (MDPJ) method for asphalt pavement design and the Pd T-14-2003 method for concrete pavement design. This data is used to determine technical specifications, cost calculations, and estimate implementation time for the two types of pavement analyzed. The analysis results show that concrete pavement with a thickness of 25 cm is more economical and efficient than asphalt (4 cm AC-WC layer and 16 cm AC-BC layer). The cost of constructing 670 m long concrete with a width of 5.5 m is IDR 2,491,113,679.00 with an implementation time of 108 days (18 weeks, 20 workers/day). On the other hand, asphalt construction costs IDR 3,360,913,041.00 with a faster implementation time, namely 28 days (5 weeks, 12 workers/day). This research suggests further exploration of composite pavement as an alternative design and update of traffic data to improve the accuracy of road planning in the future.
