Abstract
Media sosial sangat berperan penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari terutama bagi para remaja, namun penggunaan yang berlebihan dan tidak terkendali dapat mengarah pada kecenderungan adiksi media sosial. Kecenderungan ini sering kali menyebabkan terganggunya interaksi sosial secara langsung dan mengabaikan tanggung jawab. Hal ini dapat dipicu oleh kurangnya self regulation dan Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reamaja santri dengan rentan usia 18-21 tahun dan melibatkan 246 responden dengan menggunakan random sampling sebagai teknik pengambilan sampelnya. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunalan metode skala Likert, yaitu skala kecenderungan adiksi media sosial yang dirancang oleh Sahin (2018), skala self regulation sesuai dengan teori Bandura (1986), dan skala Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) sesuai dengan teori Przyblyski (2013). Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis mediasi dengan nilai indirect effects sebesar -0,225 dan signifikansi p = 0.000 (p<0,01) yang berarti terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara self regulation dengan kecenderungan adiksi media sosial melalui Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). Pada direct effects didapti nilai sebesar -0,379 dan signifikansi p = 0,000 (p<0,01) yang berarti terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara self regulation dengan kecenderungan adiksi media sosial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan efek langsung self-regulation terhadap kecenderungan adiksi media sosial lebih besar dibandingkan efek tidak langsung melalui FoMO.
