Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas rasional emotive behavior therapy untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri pada santri di PP. Ummil Mu’minin. Penyesuaian diri merupakan perkembangan individu dalam memahami dan menghayati atau mampu bersosialisasi dengan baik sehingga tercapai keselarasan dalam diri dan lingkungannya sehingga mampu menghadapi situasi dan tuntutan lingkungan secara matang dan efisien. Sasaran dalam penelitian ini merupakan 80 santri remaja yang tinggal di pondok pesantren dengan rentang usia 13-17 tahun. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain One Group PretestPosttest Design yaitu penelitian eksperimen dengan memberikan pretest sebelum diberi perlakukan dan posttest setelah diberi perlakuan kepada kelompok eskperimen untuk membandingkan hasil dari sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan. Adapun kelompok eksperimen dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 15 santri. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu simple random sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan skala penyesuaian diri yang disebarkan secara offline dengan menggunakan paper base. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji mann-whitney U test. Hasil uji statistik mann-whitney U test menunjukkan nilai p < 0,05 atau 0,000 < 0,05. Artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil pretest dan posttest kepada kelompok eksperimen setelah diberikan perlakuan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Hasil temuan ini membuktikan bahwa rasional emotive behavior therapy efektif untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri pada santri.
