Abstract

Putus sekolah menjadi konflik yang mengkhawatirkan bagi penerus bangsa yang sering dilakukan oleh para siswa di lingkungan sekolah. Siswa yang tidak mempunyai orientasi masa depan lebih mudah mengalami prestasi akademik yang buruk, sedangkan siswa yang mempunyai orientasi masa depan memiliki semangat berprestasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian yaitu korelasional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi kaitan antara ada atau tidaknya self control dengan orientasi masa depan pada siswa SMP di wilayah pesisir Tlocor. Populasi menggunakan siswa MTS Al Fatah. Metode yang diterapkan pengambilan sampel adalah menggunakan metode purposive sampling, menggunakan uji product moment. Hasil uji normalitas sebaran pada self control dengan orientasi masa depan terhadap One – Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test diperoleh sig 0,200 pada p (p0,05) dapat diasumsikan bahwa sebaran skala self control dengan orientasi masa depan berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh skor rxy 0,683 dengan sig. 0,000 (p0,01). Sebagai hasilnya, satu hipotesis dalam penelitian ini terbukti valid
