Abstract

The existence of unfair treatment behind bars is a sign of abuse of power and position by law enforcers. The song "Andai Aku Gayus Tambunan" is a symbol of this injustice. Bona Paputungan, as the creator of the song, managed to tell his life story through a song with deep lyrical meaning related to the comparison of the differences in treatment between the authorities towards him and the corruptors. Bona included the Gayus Tambunan case in his song as an identity of the corruption case itself. This study uses an interpretive qualitative method with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory, where the researcher will examine the meaning of the lyrics of the song "Andai Aku Gayus Tambunan" in depth. The results of the study show that overall, the meaning of the lyrics of the song entitled "Andai Aku Gayus Tambunan" refers to the reality of life in Indonesia, where the song seems to tell of the injustice received by the weak. With its play on words, the song indirectly makes its listeners think the same way as him to always speak out to fight corruption.
