Abstract
Energy is the most important element in the world today. Energy needs increase as the world's population increases. This is due to human dependence on energy that supports human life. The most commonly used energy today is conventional energy derived from fossils and is limited in quantity. With unlimited energy needs, it will cause an energy crisis. For this reason, this study aims to optimize the use of New Renewable Energy (EBT) as an alternative to conventional energy sources that have limited quantities and cannot be renewed. This study examines the use of sunlight as an energy source which is then converted into electrical energy through the use of solar cells, and used to power electric motors. This research method also utilizes batteries as a place to store electrical energy that has been previously converted, to then be used to power electric motors. The results of the study showed that, when the conditions were sunny, the average voltage produced was 22.61 Volts and an average current of 1.92 Amperes. While when it was cloudy, it could produce a voltage of 18.33 Volts and an average current of 1.67 Amperes. From the results of this study, solar energy from both weather conditions is distributed through a solar charge controller to the battery so that it can stably charge the battery with a capacity of 48 V and the average charging time between sunny and cloudy conditions is 8 hours 14 minutes. Experiments on electric motors at speeds of 10 km /h, 15 km / h, 20 km/ huse power of 41.3 watts, 74.3 watts and 91.8 watts.
