Abstract

Mobile banking applications have become one of the ways for users to conduct online financial transactions in the rapidly evolving digital era. Therefore, good user interface design in mobile banking applications is a crucial aspect to provide the best possible user experience; therefore, this study will use a Design Thinking approach to analyze the user interface (UI) design in mobile banking applications. Data were collected through a survey conducted by 444 respondents and then analyzed using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Another data source was interviews analyzed by NVivo software. This study examines how user experience in using mobile banking applications can improve the quality of electronic banking services. This study aims to determine what users need, the challenges faced when using mobile banking applications, and then propose more intuitive and less problematic alternatives for them. The results of the data analysis from the UEQ questionnaire provide useful insights into user reactions to the current UI design of mobile banking applications. Other factors considered to identify where improvements are needed are usability, satisfaction, aesthetics, and the overall impression of the user experience. Using NVivo software for qualitative data analysis from interviews, this study can identify patterns in user responses and provide greater insight into their perceptions of the UI design of mobile banking applications. Researchers can develop a comprehensive understanding of user needs and areas for improvement by combining quantitative and qualitative data. In this way, banks can improve the user-app interface, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and strengthening client relationships. Therefore, this study has significant practical implications for developing more responsive and user-friendly e-banking services.
