Abstract

Kerajinan keramik di Kota Malang sendiri merupakan salah satu daya tarik yang dapat dikembangkan untuk memajukan Kota Malang khususnya di bidang pariwisata dan juga bidang perekonomian. Terdapat satu area yang spesifik berupa area perkampungan di Kota Malang yang dikenal juga sebagai pusat kerajinan gerabah dan keramik. Kampung ini juga dikenal dengan nama Kampung Wisata Keramik Dinoyo yang terletak di Jl. M.T. Haryono, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Kawasan ini pada awalnya berkembang pada tahun 1957, kawasan ini juga sempat mengalami pasang surut, namun tetap berhasil eksis hingga sekarang. Masyarakat sekitar mayoritas mengembankan industri keramik dan juga gerabah berbasis home industri hingga saat ini tercatat terdapat kurang lebih 31 pengrajin keramik yang masih aktif dan tinggal di kawasan tersebut. Namun keberlangsungan kawasan ini sebagai sentra keramik dan gerabah mulai terancam, hal ini diakibatkan hilangnya identitas kawasan tersebut dan kurangnya inovasi yang sehingga bila hal ini tetap berlangsung bukan tidak mungkin kawasan ini nantinya dapat tergerus
