Abstract
Serat tebu sebagai bahan alami, merupakan kandidat yang menjanjikan untuk digunakan dalam material komposit. Peran perlakuan alkali dalam meningkatkan adhesi antara serat dan matriks serta fraksi volume serat dalam menentukan kekuatan tarik serat tebu sangat penting. Salah satu pengujian mekanik penting dalam analisis material komposit adalah pengujian tarik. Pengujian tarik digunakan untuk menilai kekuatan bahan terhadap beban tarik, yang merupakan parameter kunci dalam desain dan penggunaan material komposit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak perlakuan alkali dan variasi fraksi volume serat terhadap kekuatan tarik. Metode eksperimental digunakan dengan variasi perendaman alkali (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6 jam) dan fraksi volume serat (5%, 10%, dan 15%). Serat tebu dipilih sebagai penguat karena sifatnya yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunaakan metode vacuum chamber, metode vacuum chamber pada pembuatan komposit adalah proses dimana bahan komposit, seperti serat dan resin, ditempatkan dalam ruang hampa udara untuk menghilangkan udara yang terperangkap di dalamnya. Hal ini membantu mencegah cacat seperti porositas dan meningkatkan kualitas produk akhir. Hasil dari pengujian tarik menunjukan bahwa variasi perendaman NaOH kadar 5% 6 jam dengan fraksi volume serat tebu 15% memiliki nilai pengujian tarik tertinggi dengan nilai tegangan maksimum rata-rata 18,62
