Abstract

Community based tourism(CBT) isa new concept in managing tourism, the concept highly emphasizes the active participation of society in order to provide for their welfare but still preserve the quality of the environment,and protect its social and cultural life. This study aims to describe the implementation of the of the concept community based tourism in the development of tourist villages in Tanjungan village. The research subjects is village chief of Tanjungan village, one member of BPD, head of BUMDes Tanjungan village, one member of LPM Tanjungan village, one member of youth organization, and 2 people. The data collection techniques used in the study are observation,interviews,and documentation. This study used indicators presented by suin (Juardi et al,2020), including: 1) Involve community member from the start in every aspect, activities of tourism administrators and village communities include, communityservice, guarding tourist counters, and training for fieldtrips; 2) Ensure environmental sustainability including tree planting,cleaning the tourist areas once a month; 3) Preserve the unique character and culture of the local area, The culture of this village is Kirab Budaya Sewu Takir Dewi Sekar Tanjung and Gamelan; and 4) Contribute a fixed percentage of income to community projects village governments and institutions utilize the village's potential to be one of the local tourism aimed at boosting the village's native income. Studies show that participation in youth groups is still very low. Participation in principles of environmental sustainability has not been maximized. Until now, the government and society of Tanjungan village have given much credence to the culture. To support the success of tourism development,willsee to increase community participation primarily in youth groups as succeeding generations, improve the facilities and mintain good relations between the village government and society.
