Abstract

Hospitals should be safe and comfortable public facilities for the community, both for patients who are undergoing treatment and for the patient's family. But lately there have been quite a lot of cases of sexual violence that have occurred in hospitals, sadly the perpetrators of sexual violence are carried out by hospital employees themselves, namely orthopedic specialists. Data from Komnas Perempuan's annual report in 2021 shows that there were 299,911 incidents of violence against women in 2020. The purpose of this study is to compare the framing of the news of sexual violence that occurred at Bunda Media Jakabaring Hospital Palembang in the online media Detik.com and Tribunnews.com. This study uses a type of constructivistic research with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique uses documentation. In this study, the researcher used 2 news reports on each media. This thesis uses Robert N. Entman's framing analysis theory with 4 framing elements, Define Problems, Diagnoses Causes, Make Moral Judgement, Treatment Recommendation. In this theory, it was found that according to Robert N. Entman's framing device, there are differences in the viewpoint or angle of news in Detik.com and Tribunnews.com. In the news in Detik.com more with the initials of the name, both for the victim and the perpetrator. Meanwhile, when compared to Tribunnews.com, the media is still inconsistent in using the initials of the name in its reporting. In the first news, it was Tribunnews.com with the initials of the name, both the victim and the perpetrator. Then in the second news for the perpetrator not with the initials and explaining his real name, but for the victim still with the initials
