Abstract

People's social life has been thoroughly affected by the digital process, where information flow is so fast and easy. In the digital era, communication mediated by communication technology has become very popular due to its wider and unlimited reach, one of which is using social media. Apart from communicating and exchanging information, social media is also commonly used to seek support and public attention, as done by the owner of social media account X, @zanatul_91. The account owner makes use of the features offered by social media X, namely the thread feature to explain the revenge porn experienced by the victim, as well as the law enforcement discrimination obtained by the victim. So in this study, the author intends to provide knowledge related to whether there is an influence from a social media post on public response, namely public concern. The research was conducted on 95 respondents, who were determined using a purposive sampling technique. This research is a quantitative survey research, with an explanatory type that uses the Behaviorism theory as the grand theory and the Stimulus-Response (S-R) theory. While the data analysis technique used is simple linear regression, which indicates the results there is a positive influence of the variable Effect of Revenge Porn Case Postings (X) on the variable Public Concern for Cyber Harassment Victims (Y).
