Abstract

Alat pencacah merupakan sebuah alat yang digunakan untuk mencacah atau menghancurkan bahan menjadi potongan yang lebih kecil dan halus. Di desa papungan alat pencacah digunakan untuk mencacah bahan-bahan yang digunakan untuk pembuatan pupuk organik cair hal ini disebabkan karena mahalnya pupuk kimia menjadi salah satu alasan petani beralih kepupuk organik. Alat pencacah yang sudah dirancang memiliki beberapa kendala salah satunya yang paling menonjol yaitu ketika mencacah bahan yang berserat mesin mengalami tersendat-sendat bahkan mati, sehingga diperlukannya re-desain alat. Tujuan dari re-desain ini yaitu untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dialami alat tersebut. Adapun beberapa perubahan dan penambahan komponen terhadap alat untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dan meningkatkan performance alat yaitu, perubahan corong atas, penambahan pompa air elektrik, penambahan selang air, perubahan corong bawah, dan perubahan mata pisau. Alat yang sudah di re-desain dapat meningkatkan waktu produksi 58,6% atau mempercepat waktu produksi 2,4 kali lipat dan cacahan yang dihasilkan lebih halus dari alat sebelumnya.
