Abstract

Community participation is very necessary for the success of a program in developing and improving the quality of community life. The Empowered Village Program is one of the East Java Provincial Government's programs to restore and strengthen the village economy with thematic (iconic) development through economic branding, in order to emphasize the status of independent villages by optimizing village potential and resources to encourage the creation of empowered, independent, prosperous villages. and sustainable. This program is aimed at marginalized communities such as poor low-income groups in Kedungpring Village. The development of empowered village locations in the form of the construction of the Pring Jenggala Buffet and Café, so to achieve the objectives of this development program of course requires high community participation in the program. The active involvement of the community has great significance in the success of a program to achieve successful village development and the government also collaborates as a facilitator to drive development at the village level. In implementing the empowered village program in Kedungpring Village, there are still problems such as low workforce, decreasing number of visitors, and planning that has not been optimal. The aim of this research is to find out how community participation is in the empowered village program in Kedungpring Village. The type of research carried out is descriptive, with data collection through documentation, interviews and observation methods. The research results show that community participation in the Empowered Village Program in Kedungpring Village is good and crucial at all stages of development. Through active involvement in discussions, meetings and evaluations, this program was successful in identifying and meeting local needs. The community provides valuable ideas, suggestions and feedback, ensuring transparency and inclusivity. The principles of sustainability, openness and learning from mistakes have improved program results, as seen in the management of Pring Jenggala Buffet and Café. Community participation in Kedungpring Village is essential to achieve sustainable development in accordance with local aspirations.
