Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence between self-control and loneliness and the tendency to nomophobia among teenagers. Nomophobia is an abbreviation for No Mobile Phone Phobia, an attitude characterized by irrational fear, proven by feelings of anxiety, sadness, restlessness and discomfort if they cannot use a smartphone with the various services available on the smartphone. Self-control is the ability to override or change one's desires, such as not carrying out undesirable behavioral tendencies and refraining from deeds and actions that can cause negative things. Loneliness is a limitation within oneself that makes it difficult for individuals to connect with other people. The subjects of this research were early teenagers with the age range of 12-15 years, which amounts to 163 subjects. The sampling technique uses the g-power application with the effect size 0,3, power 0,90 and error prob 0,05. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS IBM25 program for windows. The results of this research state that the first hypothesis which states that there is a tendencies between self-control and loneliness and nomophobia in teenagers were accepted. The second hypothesis which states that there is a relationship between self-control and nomophobia in teenagers can be accepted. The third hypothesis which states that there is a relationship between loneliness and nomophobia in teenagers can be accepted.
