Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem, assertive behavior and perceptions of catcalling in early adult women in Surabaya. The subjects in this study were 277 early adult women aged 18-25 years who lived in Surabaya. The results of the study showed that simultaneously self-esteem, assertive behavior and perceptions of catcalling were rxy= 0. 750 with sig. 0.000 where p < 0.05. This means that simultaneously (together) self-esteem and assertive behavior have an influence on perceptions of catcalling. Partially, the variable self-esteem and perception of catcalling obtained a score of t = -16.435 with sig. 0.000 where p < 0.05. This means that there is a negative relationship between selfesteem and perceptions of catcalling. Partially, the assertive behavior variable with the perception of catcalling obtained a score of t = -0.365 with sig. 0.715 which is p > 0.05.
