Abstract

Economic growth is a process towards change that is pursued continuously to improve the welfare of society. Economic growth in a region is seen from the large contribution of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices or at constant prices. Meanwhile, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is the total output and achievement measure of all economic sectors as well as growth indicators for a region. The construction of the Suramadu Bridge to support economic growth in Bangkalan Regency is expected to boost or support economic growth in Bangkalan Regency. This research uses secondary data obtained from agencies such as: Central Statistics Agendy and various supporting literature and the analysis technique used in this research is qualitative analysis with the Harrod - Domar theory approach. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the sectors that grew relatively quickly after the construction of the Suramadu bridge according to constant prices in 2013. The first is the agricultural sector amounting to Rp. 1,310,393.89 billion, the second is hotel and restaurant trade amounting to Rp. 1,104,510.11 billion and finally the services sector, namely Rp. 545,609.00 Billion. Apart from that, it can also be seen the average growth in percent for the 5 years before and after the Suramadu Bridge. Before the Suramadu Bridge, actual growth (Gn) was 15.7% and guaranteed growth (Gw) was 4.9%. Furthermore, after the construction of the Suramadu bridge, actual growth (Gn) was 12.02% and guaranteed growth (Gw) was 5.9%. Before the Suramadu Bridge, Gn > Gw, but after the Suramadu Bridge, Gn is still bigger than Gw (Gn > Gw) or the actual growth is greater than the guaranteed growth. So the construction of the Suramadu Bridge has not had an impact on economic growth in Bangkalan Regency. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide input and even be a consideration for the government
