Abstract
In human life, electrical energy has an important role as energy that can help make it easier for humans to carry out daily activities. One way to obtain large-scale electrical energy potential is to make power plants with hydropower sources. One of the countries that has quite a lot of potential water resources but its utilization is not yet maximized is Indonesia. In Indonesia itself, energy sources are often used in power plants still use coal, but the process of forming fossil fuels requires a very long time. The inventors have succeeded in developing alternative energy sources whose energy sources do not use fossil fuels and this energy source can be referred to as new renewable energy in the form of Micro Hydro Power Plants or commonly abbreviated as PLTMH. In the Pacet area, Mojokerto, East Java there is a waterfall called Heningsukmo, there is a waterfall flow of approximately 5 meters high which has the potential for Microhydro Power Plants. So that researchers will analyze the effect of the number of steering blades, the slope of the steering blade angle and the height of the Kaplan water turbine head on performance with the aim of obtaining the best variation. Methods in this study include tool making, data collection, and analysis. The variation used is the number of directional blades 4, 6, 8 then the angular slope of the steering blade is 65°, 70°, 75° and the head height is 4 meters, 4.5 meters, and 5 meters.
