Abstract

A coilgun is an electromagnetic weapon that has the ability to generate electromagnetic force to accelerate projectiles. The multi-stage induction coilgun is a coilgun with large thrust. Inside the coilgun there is a power supply circuit with a voltage of 12 VDC, inverter, transformer, rectifier, capacitor and coil. To measure speed, use 2 methods, namely measuring speed using a formula and using a velocimetry tool 5 times and averaging the measured speeds. There are 3 inductances used. Each has an inductance of 0.262 mH, 0.385 mH, 0.945 mH. Based on the results of the design and data analysis, the author obtains conclusions that can be drawn from research regarding the Design and Analysis of the Single Stage Induction Coilgun, as follows. Of the two projectiles which weigh 4.26 g and 1.08 g respectively, the projectile that has the fastest speed is the 4.26 g projectile with a speed of 4.48 m/s. Of the three inductances whose inductances are 0.262 mH, 0.385 mH and 0.945 mH respectively, the inductance which has the greatest speed when launching the projectile is 0.945 mH and the kinetic energy obtained is 4.168 J. The higher the inductance value, the higher the efficiency, namely an inductance of 0.945 mH is obtained. high efficiency, namely 0.758%.
