Abstract
Seiring perkembangan zaman, penggunaan alat bantu pendeteksi mata semakin meningkat baik dalam dunia kerja maupun dalam proses peradilan di Indonesia. Meskipun alat bantu pendeteksi mata merupakan teknologi yang relatif baru di Indonesia dan memiliki kelebihan maupun kekurangan yang harus dipertimbangkan, namun tidak dapat mengesampingkan pentingnya penggunaan alat tersebut dalam mengumpulkan bukti-bukti yang relevan dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan dalam persidangan. Penggunaan alat bantu pendeteksi mata dapat membantu mempermudah proses penyelidikan dan memberikan kepastian hukum yang lebih baik bagi para pihak yang terlibat. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat permasalahan yang perlu diatasi dalam penggunaan alat bantu pendeteksi mata sebagai alat pembuktian dalam proses peradilan, seperti belum diatur dalam perundang-undangan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Oleh karenanya, perlu adanya pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai kekuatan hukum alat bantu pendeteksi mata dalam proses peradilan pidana di Indonesia.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kekuatan hukum alat bantu pendeteksi mata sebagai alat bantu dalam proses peradilan pidana di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode normatif yuridis, yang melibatkan analisis terhadap perundang-undangan dan jurnal yang relevan. Dalam penelitian ini, terdapat permasalahan yang perlu diatasi, yaitu belum diatur status hukum alat bantu pendeteksi mata sebagai alat pembuktian dalam proses peradilan pidana serta belum diatur dalam Undang-Undang No 8 tahun 1981 Tentang Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Acara Pidana. Walaupun demikian, alat bantu pendeteksi mata sudah banyak diterapkan di berbagai tempat, seperti rumah sakit, kantor, dan lainnya. Masyarakat menganggap bahwa keberadaan alat bantu pendeteksi mata dapat memberikan kepastian dan keamanan terkait pengamanan data.
