Abstract
This study aims to provide information to the public how the calorific value influences the calorific value composition with the pressing process to solve public problems regarding fuel as a substitute for fossil fuels . In this study , boiler ash and sawdust were tested to determine the calorific value of this mixture of boiler ash and sawdust using a Bomb Calorimeter . These briquettes are made from kettle ash and sawdust and are made using a pressing machine with variations in the composition of kettle ash and sawdust with diameters of 4 and 7 mm , 10 % boiler ash + 90 % sawdust ; 7 % boiler ash + 93 % sawdust ; 4 % boiler ash + 96 % sawdust . The results show that by using a 4 mm molding mold , the composition variation of 10 % boiler ash + 90 % sawdust produces the highest calorific value , which is 4571.50 cal / gr . As for the 7 mm molding , the composition variation of 4 % boiler ash + 96 % sawdust produces the smallest calorific value of 3522.95 cal / gr .
