Abstract

The use of Personal Protective Equipment for workers is still often ignored by construction workers in Indonesia, even though the regulations require Occupational Health and Safety (K3) must be requirement for a construction project to run. However, in reality there are still many contractors who ignore the importance of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) in a development project. The questionnaire data analysis method used in this study used SPSS software. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence worker compliance in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at work to prevent work accidents. To be able to find out the value of these factors, a questionnaire will be distributed to workers in the Campus II construction project of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The data obtained were then processed using SPSS software. The results of data processing obtained the value of the arithmetic with the percentage of factor values in the 3 variables tested, namely the employee attitude variable at 38.59%, the worker behavior variable at 36.91% and the SMK3 implementation variable at 24.5%, with the attitude factor being the most influential, by 38.59%. With a significance level and factor influence of 77.8% and significant with a significance value of less than 0.05. In this study, the independent variables contributed 77.8% to workers in the UINSA II campus construction project and the remaining 22.2% which was not explained in this study.
