Abstract

CV.Utama is a company engaged in the delivery of Cake Raw Materials located in Surabaya. The company distributes, among others, Cocoa Powder, Medalia Margarine, and Bread flour. For delivery, use a fleet of vehicles with large and small capacities, for the CV. Utama vehicle type, use a small box car (L300) and a large box car (Toyota Hino). There are problems in delivery, for example, distribution is carried out 1 time product delivery per 1 warehouse, resulting in increasingly expensive things, it is necessary to determine a route for travel costs on CV.Utama. Determining transportation routes using the Saving Matrix method where later using this method can solve problems and determine the most optimal distribution route for each vehicle. The saving matrix method is a technique that can be used to schedule the number of vehicles with the maximum weight. From the results of data processing with the application of the saving matrix method, it was obtained from 12 to 8 new routes, and the comparison of the initial route was 908.9 Km and for the new route it was 846.4 Km so that it was 62.5 Km or 7%. For transportation costs before the application of the saving matrix of Rp. 12,811,042 and the total cost of transportation on the new route is Rp. 7,352,717 resulting in a transportation cost of Rp. 5,458,325 or 43%.
