Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between political trust and the intensity of social media usage with COVID-19 conspiracy beliefs. This research is a quantitative type of correlation research. The data collection techniques in this study uses a political trust scale, intensity of using social media scale and the COVID-19 conspiracy beliefs scale. The subjects of this study were social media users with characteristics that have been determined by the researcher (N= 349). The data analyzed using NonParametric statistical analysis techniques based on the Spearman’s rank correlation. Based on data analysis, the results are 1) there is a significant negative correlation between political trust and COVID-19 conspiracy belief; 2) there is a significant positive correlation between the intensity of using social media and COVID-19 conspiracy belief.
