Abstract
This research is to determine the correlation between subjective well being with narcissistic tendencies. The hypothesis proposed in this study is there is a negative correlation between subjective well being with narcissistic tendencies. This means that the higher the one's subjective well being then the narcissistic tendencies is low. The population in this reasearch is active adolescent social media of instagram. This sample amounted to 139 respondents aged 15 – 21 years. The sampling technique is using purposive sampling. Methods of data collection in this study using Likert scale in the form of narcissistic tendencies scale and subjective well being scale. Data analysis techniques used Product moment Pearson technique with Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 20 for Windows. Based on the calculation of correlation analysis technique product moment value rxy -0.623 with p = 0.000 (p < 0,05). This means there is a significant negative relationship between subjective well being with narcissistic tendencies. The results of this research contribute to the social media users to be able to present themselves proporsional by creating subjective well being
