Abstract

This study uses a food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2013-2017. Along with the pace of the world economy that has undergone development and has led to a free market economy system, companies are increasingly driven to increase competitiveness. Companies can be said to be successful and successful if they get maximum profits. The amount of profit obtained by the company will affect the survival of the company. The research objectives to be achieved in accordance with the formulation of the problem is to examine the effect of profitability ratios, activities, liquidity and solvency on profit growth. This study has a population of 18 companies with data collection techniques using purposive sampling using various criteria that have been determined by the author, then 10 companies were selected as samples of the research object. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis and Goodness of Fit Test to test the hypothesis. While for the classic assumption test used, among others: Normality test, Multicollinearity Test, Heteroscedasticity Test and Autocorrelation Test. The classic assumption test results show that this study has fulfilled, among others (1) Residual both regression models are normally distributed; (2) The regression model is free from multicollinearity; (3) heteroscedasticity does not occur; and (4) there is no autocorrelation in the regression model. Based on the findings of the analysis using multiple linear regression and to answer the hypotheses obtained the following results: (1) Variable Profitability does not affect the Profit Growth, this is evidenced by the t test which shows a significance value> 0,05 which is equal to 0,981; (2) Activity Variables have no effect on Profit Growth, this is evidenced by the t test which shows a significance value> 0,05 which is equal to 0,841; (3) Liquidity Variables have no effect on Profit Growth, this is evidenced by the t test which shows a significance value> 0,05 which is equal to 0,378; (4) Solvability variables have an effect on Profit Growth, this is evidenced by the t test which shows a significance value <0,05 which is equal to 0,018. While based on the findings of the analysis using the Goodness of Fit Test obtained a significance value of 0,046. This value is <0,05 from the level of significance, so it can be concluded that the variables Profitability, Activity, Liquidity and Solvability together (simultaneously) affect the Profit Growth. In addition, the disclosure of the effect of Profitability, Activity, Liquidity and Solvability on Profit Growth obtained R2 value of 18,8% (0.188).
