Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of asertivity of communication ability on the students of University 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. The hypothesis of this study is there is a positive influence in the ability of communication between asertivity on the students of University 17 Agustus Surabaya. It means the higher of asertivity on the students of University 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, then the higher their communication ability. Population in this study is student of University 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. While the sample in this study amounted to 96 respondents. The sampling technique is done by assignment random sampling. Methods of data collection in this study using a Likert scale in the form of a scale of asertivity and a scale of communication ability. While the technique of data analysis using Simple Regression correlation. Based on the calculation of Simple Regression correlation correlation analysis technique obtained correlation coefficient value R = 0,576 and the coefficient of determination R2 = 0,331 (33.1 %) with a significant level both variables is 0,000 (p < 0,05). It means there is or not significant positive influence between the asertivity and communication ability on the students of University of 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya
