Abstract

In order to support the development of integrated city infrastructure by the East Java Provincial Government through the Public Works Agency of the Highways of East Java Province, a road improvement project is carried out to support the smooth development of the economy, especially in the Sampang District of Madura. One of the provincial road segments in Sampang Regency, East Java, is the Sampang City - Ketapang boundary road. The current condition of the road is inadequate for traffic development, many road conditions are currently cracked, hollow, and bumpy, making a problem that is quite disturbing for road users who are heading to the Sampang City - Ketapang boundary. From these problems, it is necessary to improve the road on the Sampang City - Ketapang boundary road in Sampang Regency. A very important program is to increase the Sampang City - Ketapang Boundary Road with a total handling length of 4.50 km and a width of 6.00 m by obtaining the most economical cost between flexible pavement and rigid pavement. The purpose of this study was to analyze the calculation of flexible road pavement on the Sampang City - Ketapang boundary road section, to carry out the concept of applying work in the field, to conduct investment analysis on flexible road pavement on the Sampang City - Ketapang boundary road so that the most economical cost value was obtained. After thick bending of the pavement layer planning, it was found that the thickness of the pavement layer needed for the construction of an increase in the boundary road of Sampang City - Ketapang in Sampang Regency with a 10-year design life.
