Abstract

ABSTRACT Setting the water level in the paddy fields is still done manually, the design of irrigation systems using automatic technology is an alternative that can increase the productivity and efficiency of irrigation water use in paddy fields. This design was designed using a 100 Wp solar cell as the main source in the form of solar energy input that produces DC output, then forwarded to the solar charger controller functions as a regulator of the voltage and current charging on the battery. After that the output of the DC battery is converted to AC by an inverter for the load (water pump and automatic control). Microcontroller functions as a motor control system (water pump) by getting input from an ultrasonic sensor as a reader of the level of water level in the land. The working system of ultrasonic sensors works based on the set point level of water level, when the water level drops to 0 cm (ground level), the pump will turn on automatically until the set point level of water level that has been determined is 3 cm (above ground level). This system is also equipped with a waterflow sensor that functions as a reading of the volume of water pumped to the field. This system is designed to make it easier for users, especially farmers, to maintain the height of the level of standing water in the specified setpoint range for plants in flooded paddy fields.
