Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in the production of Zebra embroidery polyester thread and faces the problem of failing to optimally achieve production targets, which is suspected to be caused by an imbalance in operator workload and a workforce size that does not align with actual work requirements. This study aims to analyze operator workload levels, determine optimal workforce requirements, and identify the impact on productivity. The methods used were Cardiovascular Load (CVL) to measure operators’ physical workload and Work Load Analysis (WLA) to determine workforce requirements based on the workload received by operators. The results of the study indicate that the majority of operators fall into the moderate to heavy workload category. WLA calculations show that the highest workforce requirement is in the Packing 2 section at 2.40 operators, and in the rewinding section, it ranges from 2.23 to 2.33 operators. The optimal number of workers required by the company is 23 operators, while the actual workforce stands at 15 operators, necessitating the addition of 8 operators. The addition 5.17%. The company gains a net economic benefit of Rp778,000 per month. The results of the study indicate that increasing the workforce based on workload analysis can reduce excessive workloads, improve productivity, and support the achievement of the company’s production targets.
