Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara online disinhibition effect dengan kecenderungan perilaku cyber aggression pada remaja pengguna sosial media di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional yang melibatkan dua variabel. Teknik pengambilan partisipan menggunakan metode accidental sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 242 remaja di Surabaya yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala online disinhibition effect yang disusun berdasarkan teori Udris (2014) serta skala Cyber Aggression Questionnaire for Adolescents (CYBA) yang diadaptasi dari Álvarez-García, dkk. (2016). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara online disinhibition effect dengan kecenderungan perilaku cyber aggression pada remaja pengguna media sosial di Surabaya dengan nilai r = 0,806 dari taraf signifikansi p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat online disinhibition effect, maka semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan perilaku cyber aggression pada remaja. Remaja disarankan untuk lebih bijak dalam menggunakan media sosial serta meningkatkan kemampuan pengendalian diri agar dapat meminimalkan risiko perilaku agresif di dunia maya.
