Abstract

Tourism is the activity of traveling to a destination for recreation, entertainment, or non-productive purposes without seeking income. Indonesia, with its cultural diversity and extensive tourist destinations, has great potential for cultural tourism, one of which is in Kampung Adat Lamahelan, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This village has the advantage of well-preserved traditional architecture, a traditional spatial layout that has existed for hundreds of years, and traditional arts such as the Hedung and Gawi Au dances accompanied by old gongs. The ikat weaving craft with its distinctive Adonara motifs further strengthens the cultural identity of the community.However, cultural tourism management in Lamahelan faces several obstacles, such as limited internet access, resulting in suboptimal digital promotion, the absence of official social media accounts and regular tour packages, and a lack of supporting facilities such as homestays, information centers, and public toilets. Limited human resources are also a barrier to promotional strategies.The development of appropriate cultural tourism in the traditional village of Lamahelan aims to increase tourist visits while preserving ancestral heritage, empowering local communities, and distributing economic and social benefits evenly. The 6A concept (Attractions , accessibility, accommodation, amenities, activities, and advocacy) is a relevant analytical framework in this study.
