Abstract

Advancements in transportation technology have created a need for more efficient and accessible ticket booking systems, particularly for transport companies like PT Kym Bersatu Anugerah Bersama. To address this need, a mobile-based bus ticket booking application serves as an ideal solution, as it enhances operational efficiency while improving passenger convenience. This study aims to design a bus ticket booking application that meets user needs and elevates the service experience. The research employs the Design Thinking approach, comprising five key stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. During the design phase, the prototype's user interface (UI) was developed using Figma software. Subsequently, the application's usability was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. Initial testing results yielded an SUS score of 71, placing the application in category C (Good). However, following design improvements based on user feedback, the SUS score rose to 86.125, falling into category B (Excellent). This improvement demonstrates a significant enhancement in the application's usability and user satisfaction. Overall, the study successfully developed a bus ticket booking application that aligns with user expectations, offers a more efficient booking process, and includes a real-time bus tracking feature—thereby providing added value for both users and the transport service provider.
