Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penggunaan register dan makna kontekstualnya dalam posting dan komentar dari grup Facebook berjudul “In My Omegaverse Era”. Grup ini mewakili kelompok penggemar digital niche yang berfokus pada subgenre Omegaverse, yang menampilkan hierarki karakter yang unik, peran sosial alternatif, dan kosakata khusus. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana bahasa disusun dan digunakan secara fungsional dalam kelompok ini, dengan fokus khusus pada bagaimana kata-kata tertentu berfungsi sebagai register yang menyampaikan makna yang dibentuk oleh konteks dan pengalaman bersama. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, mengacu pada teori register Halliday (bidang, tenor, mode) dan teori makna kontekstual Lyons (situasi fisik, peserta, pengetahuan bersama). Sumber data terdiri dari 100 posting dan komentar yang dikumpulkan sepanjang tahun 2024. Berdasarkan temuan, studi ini mengidentifikasi 21 register berbeda yang sering muncul dalam diskursus kelompok. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa register yang diidentifikasi dalam kelompok ini ditandai oleh pilihan kata yang khas dan dipengaruhi oleh konteks situasional serta pola interaksi dalam diskusi terkait fiksi Omegaverse. Banyak istilah yang menyimpang secara signifikan dari makna konvensionalnya, berkembang menjadi ekspresi yang mencerminkan pemahaman kolektif kelompok terhadap elemen naratif tertentu. Makna-makna ini seringkali implisit dan hanya dapat diinterpretasikan secara akurat dalam konteks referensi bersama. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa register dalam kelompok penggemar digital tidak hanya berfungsi untuk memfasilitasi komunikasi tetapi juga untuk memperkuat identitas kelompok dan imersi naratif, menunjukkan bagaimana bahasa beradaptasi secara kreatif dengan pengaturan fiksi spesifik dan praktik interaktif dalam lingkungan online.
