Abstract

The Agrobis Wholesale Market in Probolinggo City is designed with a bioclimatic architecture approach to create an efficient, comfortable, and sustainable trading facility. The project aims to address the problem of suboptimal distribution of agricultural products by providing an integrated distribution center that supports local farmers and traders. The location of the market was chosen in Jrebeng Kidul Village, Wonoasih District, because of its strategic accessibility and proximity to the agricultural area. The market is designed with a capacity to accommodate 1,105 traders and 500 tons of commodities per day, equipped with facilities such as cold storage, sorting area, food court, and administration room. The bioclimatic approach is applied through the use of natural ventilation, passive lighting, environmentally friendly materials, and integration of vegetation to reduce the impact of tropical heat. The concept of sustainability includes environmental, social, and economic aspects, such as the use of solar panels, integrated waste management, and empowerment of local farmers. The design results include an organized spatial layout with trade, service, and support zones, as well as a climate-responsive building design. It is hoped that this market can become a regional distribution center that improves farmer welfare, price stability, and food security in Probolinggo City.
