Abstract

Employees are required to carry out various professional roles in work and personal life simultaneously. When both demands are not managed in a balanced manner, it can affect the level of employee job satisfaction. This study aims to determine and analyze the relationship between work life balance and job satisfaction in employees. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design and purposive sampling technique, involving 150 employees as participants. The instruments used are the work life balance scale based on the theory developed by Hayman and the job satisfaction scale based on the theory developed by Weiss, both measuring instruments have proven their validity and reliability. The results of data analysis using the Pearson product moment correlation technique show that there is a significant positive relationship between work life balance and job satisfaction (r = 0.348; p = 0.000) which means that the better the work life opportunities, the higher the employee job satisfaction. This finding indicates that work life balance is an important factor that needs to be managed and considered by organizations in order to improve psychological well-being and overall employee performance in a dynamic work environment.
