Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi perbaikan faktor daya (cos φ) pada instalasi listrik rumah pompa P.A Prapen Kota Surabaya guna mengurangi biaya denda akibat kelebihan pemakaian daya reaktif (kVArh) yang dikenakan oleh PLN. Berdasarkan data awal, rumah pompa memiliki faktor daya sebesar 0,70 dengan daya aktif sebesar 707,95 kW, yang menyebabkan konsumsi daya reaktif yang tinggi dan mengakibatkan denda rata-rata hingga Rp 31 juta per bulan. Dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak ETAP 19.0.1, dilakukan simulasi penambahan kapasitor bank untuk meningkatkan faktor daya menjadi 0,95. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan kompensasi daya reaktif sebesar 488,485 kVAr, dengan total kapasitansi sekitar 3169,2 μF.Setelah pemasangan kapasitor bank, konsumsi daya reaktif turun signifikan, dan rumah pompa tidak lagi dikenakan denda. Perhitungan ekonomis menunjukkan bahwa pengembalian investasi (payback period) terjadi dalam waktu 3–5 bulan, tergantung pada beban harian aktual. Dengan pemasangan kapasitor bank senilai Rp 158.137.000, penghematan biaya listrik mencapai lebih dari Rp 372 juta per tahun. Oleh karena itu, perbaikan faktor daya terbukti sebagai solusi teknis dan ekonomis yang efektif untuk mengoptimalkan efisiensi energi dan mengurangi beban biaya operasional pada instalasi rumah pompa.
