Abstract

A country's economic growth is often measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which reflects the total goods and services produced in a period. One sector that contributes greatly to this growth is Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). MSMEs play an important role in creating jobs, improving people's welfare, and contributing to reducing poverty levels in Indonesia. Amidst the challenges of economic development as a developing country, MSMEs are a strategic solution because of their ability to absorb a large number of workers and continue to develop, supported by various government policies. In Indonesia, MSMEs contribute around 63.58% to GDP and absorb 99.45% of the workforce. Wonosobo Regency, Central Java, is one of the areas with high MSME potential, especially in the processing industry sector. The number of MSMEs in this region has increased from 59,168 units in 2016 to 60,964 units in 2020. However, most of this growth comes from new MSMEs, not from MSMEs that have moved up a class. To encourage quality growth, it is necessary to increase business capacity through institutional strengthening, partnerships, skills training, and product standardization and certification, especially for MSMEs in the food processing sector. Unfortunately, this great potential has not been balanced by the availability of adequate training and development facilities. Therefore, facilities are needed that can accommodate the needs of MSMEs comprehensively, starting from entrepreneurship training to business coaching and development.
