Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal protection for workers receiving wages below the stipulated Regional Minimum Wage (UMK) by companies. Employment relationships often lead to industrial disputes between workers and companies, which can result in conflicts and dissatisfaction. In this context, the study examines various regulations governing workers' rights. The Law No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower and Government Regulation No. 36 of 2021 on Wages serve as guidelines for the author to explain workers' rights and wage provisions. This research employs a normative juridical method, collecting data based on legal literature and regulations. The findings indicate violations by companies that fail to comply with the minimum wage provisions established by the government for the protection of workers' rights. There is a pressing need for enhanced oversight by the Labor Office and strict enforcement of laws against violations of minimum wage regulations. It is hoped that the government will pay attention to labor relations to prevent industrial disputes. Companies facing violations often cite various factors contributing to these issues. Not only should workers receive protection, but companies are also encouraged to consider their legal protections to avoid sanctions from the government and sustain their operations. Thus, legal protection can be improved to ensure that workers' rights are fulfilled. This research aims to contribute to the development of better labor policies in Indonesia.
