Abstract

Lovebird lovers in Indonesia are increasingly developing in keeping these birds from traditional methods to more intensive care. The aim behind adopting a more intensive rearing model is to obtain better quality Lovebirds. The main qualities sought in a Lovebird are a melodious voice and the beauty of its feathers. Therefore, in lovebird competitions, the quality of the sound and the beauty of the feathers are the main parameters for determining the winner. Interest in songbirds, including Lovebirds, is increasing, which is reflected in the soaring prices of these birds and increasingly lively discussions in both offline and online forums. However, it is important not to underestimate safety, especially when keeping Lovebirds. Inequality in levels of welfare often triggers criminal behavior. Therefore, it is important to create a safe environment. Automatic security systems using fingerprints can help reduce the possibility of burglary, because only certain people have access. Although, currently, many lovebird cages still use manual door locks, which are vulnerable to key duplication and are easy to break into. To overcome this problem, the Automatic Safety Lock was created. This tool uses fingerprint technology to open the Lovebird cage door automatically. By using a NodeMcu microcontroller integrated with an ESP32 module and a registered fingerprint sensor, the cage door will open only if the scanned fingerprint matches what has been registered. It is hoped that this tool can provide additional security and reduce the frequent incidents of Lovebird theft. In this way, it is hoped that theft of lovebirds in cages can be minimized, providing peace of mind for bird lovers.
