Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mindfulness dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa perantau semester satu di Kota Surabaya. Sebanyak 200 mahasiswa yang berasal dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia menjadi partisipan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan uji korelasi Spearman’s Rho sebagai teknik analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara mindfulness dan stres akademik, dengan koefisien korelasi (r) = -0,347 dan nilai signifikansi p = 0,000 (p < 0,01). Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa mahasiswa dengan tingkat mindfulness yang lebih tinggi cenderung mengalami stres akademik yang lebih rendah, begitupun sebaliknya. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang menyatakan adanya hubungan negatif antara mindfulness dan stres akademik pada mahasiswa semester satu perantau di Kota Surabaya diterima. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru terkait pentingnya mindfulness sebagai salah satu faktor yang berperan dalam mengurangi stres akademik, terutama pada mahasiswa perantau yang menghadapi tantangan baru di lingkungan akademik.
