Abstract

Career anxiety is a form of anxiety disorder that can hinder individuals from making the right career decisions. The career challenges faced by vocational school students when entering the world of work are influenced by various factors, one of which is low psychological well-being. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of psychological well-being psychoeducation on career anxiety in vocational school students in terms of gender. This research is an experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research was four classes XII majoring in Online Business with a total of 136 students. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling, the sample in the study consisted of 33 students selected from classes XII majoring in Online Business 4. The instrument used was the career anxiety scale which consisted of 45 items. The results of the hypothesis test from the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis obtained a Z value = 2.646 (p < 0.05). The first hypothesis which states that psychological well-being psychoeducation is effective in reducing career anxiety in vocational school students is proven or accepted because there is a significant difference in the average value of career anxiety between before and after being given the treatment which decreases. The results of the Mann-Whitney Test analysis during the pretest obtained a value of Z = 0.182 (p > 0.05). Meanwhile, during the posttest, the value Z = 0.109 (p > 0.05). This means that there is no difference in the level of career anxiety between male and female students. The second hypothesis is rejected.
