Abstract
This study aims to explore the representation of moral messages in the film "Budi Pekerti" through Roland Barthes' semiotics. The method employed is qualitative, involving direct observation of the film "Budi Pekerti," known for its strong moral messages. Data was collected through two sources: primary data obtained by watching the film in its entirety and secondary data gathered from references related to Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, moral messages, and "Budi Pekerti" film, sourced from literature such as books, journals, both online and in libraries. The findings reveal that behind its storyline addressing cyberbullying phenomena, "Budi Pekerti" conveys three moral messages applicable to everyday life: the importance of maintaining integrity, being mindful of one's words, and refraining from cultivating revenge. The implication of these findings is that films serve not only as entertainment but also as vehicles for conveying values and morals to their audience, particularly influencing the younger generation susceptible to cultural influences. This research contributes to expanding understanding of how visual media like films can foster moral awareness in society.
