Abstract

This study critically analyzes the discourse in the song "(G)I-DLE - Nxde" with the aim of understanding the social and cultural messages conveyed through its lyrics and music video visualization. The Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method is employed to identify the hidden meanings and discourses within the song. The findings reveal that "Nxde" addresses issues of negative stereotypes towards women, gender equality, and support for women's rights. Through the use of metaphors and symbolism, (G)I-DLE critiques conventional views on beauty and female identity that often marginalize women. In conclusion, this song serves not only as entertainment but also as a tool for conveying critical messages and inspiring social change. (G)I-DLE's work is not just a piece of art but also a powerful instrument of social critique. Through profound lyrics, symbolic visuals, and strategic title selection, (G)IDLE successfully raises important issues related to the objectification of women, beauty standards, and sexual exploitation.
