Abstract
This study aims to find out whether Entrepreneurial Skills, Entrepreneurial Characteristics, and Creativity have an influence on the performance of micro and small businesses in the Culinary Tourism Center Convention Hall Surabaya. Basically, running a business is not easy, one of which is a business engaged in the culinary sector because it requires skills, tenacity, creativity and strong strategies to be able to survive and compete with other business actors. To be able to survive and compete with other business actors, good performance is needed in order to achieve the success of a business. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sample of this study is all business actors in the Culinary Tourism Center of the Convention Hall Surabaya. The number of samples in this study was 33 respondents. The sample technique used in this study uses a saturated sampling technique which is included in the type of nonprobability sampling. The results showed that the variables of Entrepreneurship skills, Entrepreneurial Characteristics and Creativity had a simultaneous influence on the Performance variables. However, partially the Entrepreneurial Skills variable has a negative and significant effect on the Performance variable. This can happen because some business actors tend to take too many risks to achieve their business goals. Therefore, business actors need to consider the risks and opportunities for the business they are currently running. In addition, business actors are expected to better understand market needs by re-identifying the latest trends that are rising and what the market wants at the moment, then business actors can hold training for employees so that in the future they can further improve creative and innovative ideas in developing products to be marketed, so that in the future business actors can face business competition.
