Abstract
This research aims to analyze the financial performance of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Tbk using the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA) methods during the period 2020 to 2023. The EVA method is used to measure the economic profit generated by the company after taking into account costs. capital. Meanwhile, MVA measures the difference between the company's market value and the book value of invested capital. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. EVA analysis proves that Bank BNI's EVA value for 4 years has always been negative, indicating that the company has not succeeded in creating added value for shareholders. Meanwhile, the MVA value during the same period showed positive results and experienced a significant increase. This increase in MVA is due to an increase in share prices and the number of shares outstanding even though there will be a decline in share prices in 2023. The results of this research are useful for investors in assessing the potential added value of investing in this bank with a deeper understanding of the company's financial performance through the EVA and MVA methods, as well as providing in-depth insight into the efficiency of fund management and Bank BNI's ability to maintain increasing market value amidst intense competition in the banking industry. Overall, the EVA and MVA methods provide different but complementary insights in assessing a company's financial performance. This method helps management and investors make better strategic decisions and increase the company's value in the future. It is hoped that PT BNI Tbk can continue to improve its financial performance and create long-term value for its shareholders.
