Abstract

Kampung Coklat is an educational tourism-based entertainment venue in Blitar Regency. This research aims to find out how Kampung Coklat tourism communication in implemented in building destination branding in Blitar Regency which is related to impression management theory. This research uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out throught interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of this research is that Kampung Coklat has successfully implemented these two things by referring to eight indicators developed from Burhan Bungin’s Tourism Communication study. They are implementing Kampung Coklat Tourism Communication as an effort to promote and provide tourism information to tourists so that they know about the existence and visit Kampung Coklat. Apart from that, from the impression management indicators, Kampung Coklat applies three of the five existing indicators. These three indicators are in line with the tourism communication activities they carry out. Therefore, a Tourism Communication strategy can build destination branding for Kampung Coklat.
