Abstract

UD. Wahyu Abadi adalah sebuah usaha di bidang percetakan yang berlokasi di Petemon, Surabaya. Perusahaan ini mampu memproduksi antara 800 -1.200 cetakan per hari atau setara dengan 50-70 rim kertas. Dalam kegiatan operasionalnya, UD. Wahyu Abadi menggunakan tiga jenis bahan baku kertas, yaitu Art Paper, HVS, dan NRC. Sebelumnya, perusahaan melakukan pembelian bahan baku berdasarkan kebijakan sendiri tanpa menggunakan metode pengendalian persediaan yang optimal. Studi yang dilakukan mengungkapkan bahwa dengan mengimplementasikan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), perusahaan dapat mengoptimalkan biaya persediaan bahan baku. Kuantitas pembelian yang paling menguntungkan untuk kertas Art Paper adalah 12 rim dengan frekuensi pemesanan 13 kali dalam jangka waktu 6 bulan, menghemat biaya persediaan sebesar Rp. 42.029 dibandingkan kebijakan sebelumnya. Untuk kertas HVS, kuantitas pembelian optimal adalah 178 rim dengan frekuensi pemesanan 18 kali dalam waktu 12 bulan, menghemat biaya persediaan sebesar Rp. 380.896. Sementara untuk kertas NRC, kuantitas pembelian optimal adalah 853 rim dengan frekuensi pemesanan 18 kali dalam jangka waktu 12 bulan, menghemat biaya persediaan sebesar Rp. 379.715. Selain itu, metode EOQ juga mewajibkan perusahaan untuk menyediakan persediaan pengaman dan menetapkan titik pemesanan kembali guna mengantisipasi keterlambatan pengiriman bahan baku. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan UD. Wahyu Abadi untuk menerapkan metode EOQ dalam pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku demi meningkatkan efisiensi biaya.
