Abstract
The spread or proliferation of homosexual phenomena is now familiar in modern society. Meanwhile, homosexuality remains a controversial issue in Indonesian society. Homosexual individuals often face intimidation and discrimination from the community because they are considered deviant behavior and far from social norms. Therefore, homosexual individuals, particularly gay men, seek spaces where they can express themselves and articulate their sexual orientation freely. Alter accounts on the social media platform X have become the choice for gay men to express themselves. This study, using virtual ethnography methods, focuses on the interactions and communications that form on the alter account @menikahii. Interactions on the alter account, particularly on @menikahii, emerge through the tweets made by @menikahii on the social media platform X. Subsequently, the followers of the @menikahii account will respond by liking, commenting, and retweeting. However, not all tweets receive the same response. Nevertheless, social media platform X has become the preferred media space for gay men to create an alter account and express themselves without fear of discriminatory behavior.
