Abstract

This study aims to find out whether exposure to online gambling advertisements affects the motives for watching digital live streaming games in Jombang Regency, especially in Ngoro District and Gudo District for adolescents aged 20- 24 years. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Questionnaires and questionnaires are the main source of material data. The question used is a Likert scale model by testing all question items so that they can be used to analyze respondents' answers. The research was conducted according to the criteria of respondents in Ngoro District and Gudo District and distributed questionnaires to 99 respondents. Media Cultivation Theory is used in this study in variable X, namely exposure to advertisements, there are frequency, imagination, and perception. Use and Gratification theory for variable Y, namely, the motive to watch there is, information motive, integrity, social interaction, entertainment and interest. Based on the results of the study through the coefficient of determination test (R Square), there is an influence of exposure to online gambling advertisements on the motives for watching digital live streaming games for adolescents aged 20-24 years in the Ngoro District and Gudo District areas. The magnitude of the effect of the coefficient of determination is 92.9%.
